Reports on Wirral newsbeat, that there's been a collision between a bus and car at Spital Crossroads, probably on the 86, hope everyone's ok
This is a strange one .
Why does the 86 travel via Bromborough Retail Park in the evenings Monday to Saturday but its Sunday Equivalent the 87 not .
I would have thought some of the problems with traffic on the Bromborough Retail Park is that there is hardly any public transport there.
Seems only Avon seems to think there is any business there .
On a Sunday it continues to Eastham Ferry so wouldn't have enough time I would guess

The 86 and 87 are strange in that one route goes from Mill Park to Leasowe and the other Eastham Ferry to Leasowe , argely following what was the 186 previously.
By taking the diversion via Bromborough Retail Park there is 4 mins recovery at the Mill park end and 2 mins at the Leasowe end of the route on the Monday to Friday Evening Only service 86 , the sunday service is even tighter at the Eastham Ferry end with only 1 min recovery and 2 mins recovery at the Leasowe end.
N271CKB your probably right , Avon having no room for running from Eastham Ferry as well as via Bromborough Retail Park.
Does anyone know how much longer the R reg dart/pointer 1's have left? I rode one today and they are excellent busses, especially considering their age! Id much rather them than a spryte or even some of the newer pointer 2's. The T and S reg Marshall darts are also very good busses to ride on! (For marshalls anyway!!!) I don't think the MCV's are that great though. Ride is quite poor and considerably less reliable than most of the older members of the fleet.
Personally think the only thing that lets down the MCV's is the poor legroom other than that I rate them quite highly along with the Sprytes
I think Avon have a lovely fleet much of it pre 2001 quite nice to see the older buses running around

I agree, they seem reasonably solid and the interiors have been well looked after.

Yes I agree with Neoplan - decent buses let down by poor legroom, but also like the older vehicles too.

The latest issue of buses magazine reports that dart R129RLY is withdrawn.
