Avons 93 timetable looks impressive, if successful I think they should look into commercialising Sunday daytime routes 492 and 495 and extending them to Liverpool. I think that would be a good money spinner

I've only just realised that the 93 no longer serves Claughton and serves Oxton Road, Balls Road and Gerald road then onto the Noctorum like Imperas 98 route
Spotted new enviro, 412, on the 122 earlier, poss first one of these has ventured to Liverpool

Are these routes really that profitable though.

As for so long a lot of Avon's buses in that area have been the eastern section of the former merseytravel 216/217 , which have been dissected so many times by avon it bearly resembles that route in any shape or form.

Like the 186 Eastham-Leasowe, it never seemed to carry a sole when it was a contract but was very handy to get to other parts of Wirral direct from bromborough whenever needed, it was then renumbered the 86 and ran for a good while, before being chopped and changed so many times it now only runs as far as heswall. I've not used it since. I'm sure it turns into another service and continues to west Kirby, is it an 88(?) , but not even sure which way it goes as that was altered a few times as well even before the 86 got curtailed. Hardly see anybody at all use the 86 now!

Think from talking to a couple of other Avon drivers now it's

86/87 - Eastham/Mill Park to Heswall BS
Change to
88 - Heswall BS to West Kirby Stn
Change to
293 - West Kirby to Woodside BS then same in Reverse
Never ever saw the logic of the split really , other than if Avon could look at what is the profitable sectors of the full route or in the case now as far as West Kirby.

Im not sure now even if Avon was to give up a section of route that merseytravel would be able to replace with budget cuts and the like going on.
Remember Stagecoach muscled in on the 86 with the 38A evening/Sundays service they started so Avon chopped and changed theirs to fit in better
Another oddity is the evening service 86 goes from Mill park to Heswall and operates via Bromborough Retail park , but the Sunday service 87 from Eastham Ferry to Heswall doesnt , on a sunday daytime i reckon you would get a few wanting to go down to the retail park .
Ex-Helms Dart KN52 NFE (152) has now been painted in the new style livery, similar to that on the Enviro200s.

The other ex-Helms Dart KM51 BFN (251) will be running until when the MOT expires in May, and will then subsequently be withdrawn and used for spares.
