The 441, 442 and 473 will be remarkable routes for linking the Wirral with Liverpool beyond the City Centre.

They would be if they are actual daytime services rather than early morning and evening only like the 143 and co. Fingers crossed they are, as I would definitely find them useful.

Prior to deregulation in 1986 I was shown a list of registrations for new commercial services. I cannot remember the full details but one of them was indeed a route between the Wirral and north Liverpool. Whether it ever ran or was cancelled before the 26th October, I cannot recall.
What I do find odd is the change-over position of Avon's 122 (Crosby-Aintree Hospital) commercial service. It would seem logical to do the change-over at one of the two termini but this is not the case. Surprisingly, Avon use the half-way point near the Magdalene Square which is where the two vehicles meet. What is even more surprising that they send the two drivers in two of their vans for the changeover at 10.45 and 11.15 each morning.
Now that Avon have made inroads into tendered services in the Bootle/Litherland area, surely it is worth considering registering occasional commercial services to facilitate these change-overs as well as positioning first and last buses?
Do we know what the alterations are, to the advertised routes in West Kirby?
Avons first day on the 202/4 saw darts 454 and 252 working alongside mcv 407

Im interested to find out about the changes for the 77 , 82/A and 88
Is the 77 Birkenhead - West Kirby being split and the Heswall - West Kirby section becoming the 82/82A .
It is interesting that Avon's new services in Litherland are to have non-standard Merseytravel fares.
(Though perhaps this was the case with the previous operator -- I am not familiar with that area).

This has been the case since Avon started on the Litherland 144/145 a few months ago. The services are part-subsidised/part-commercial rather than fully-subsidised by Merseytravel, with the higher fares compensating for the smaller subsidy (whereas, to my knowledge, Avon wouldn't keep the takings if the services were fully-subsidised).

Ah, I see, so it is just the positioning journeys for these which are new.
Thanks for the info.
