It's a shock that Avon may have won the 135/235. Cumfybus seem to have pulled-out of running the daytime and evening services, so I wonder if the contract is for all day and night.

HTL haven't bid for any contracts lately as they're running on the maximum amount of O-licences at the moment!

133 was last run commercially by Cumfybus, so unless Merseytravel are taking it back on it could be finished.
From the new timetable does the 86/87 and 293 interwork , timings would suggest so
I believe they are to be interworked, using 4 buses on the circuit
What always got me is the two differing routes the 86 and the 87 have .

The 86 starts at Mill Park and runs via Bromborough Retail Park to West Kirby

The 87 starts at Eastham Ferry and runs directly to West Kirby , not calling at the Retail Park

The 86 is the Monday to Saturday Evening service , The 87 being the Sunday all day equivalent . Why does Avon feel the need to service the Retail Park on Monday to Saturday Evening , but not on a Sunday at all .
Well, this is a huge surprise in my opinion - Avon will be running the 135 (Aintree > Bootle) service from the 7th of July!

I know as I replied to that post at the time! My recent post was just confirming it (no offence to MX12CFE).

If Cumfybus, whose depot is very close to this route, is unable to make to make a profit from this service how can a company based on the other side of the river hope to succeed? The last time a Wirral company operated a tendered service in north Liverpool/south Sefton (Impera with the 130) it ended in tears. Also, I shall be interested to see what vehicles Avon intends to use. Anything bigger than an Optare Solo will be too big to negotiate the tight turns and narrow roads.

They have the 122 in North Liverpool and they seem to be running that fine, and they most probably use one of their MPD darts, unless they are brining new buses in
