All of the short 88s between Altrincham and Wilmslow are withdrawn. The 19.05 from Knutsford now reverts to terminating in Wilmslow instead of running through to Altrincham. How long until the evening 288 between Altrincham and the airport is withdrawn? The reduction to 2 hourly is the beginning of the end.

Unless d&g operate another local evening service that I’ve forgotten, the evening timetable is a pretty poor use of a bus now too. And it’s not like the depot is local so the driver can pop back in the gaps.

One Saturday return working remains.

When there was a 300 Knutsford circular evening service the main reason it was half hourly was because there wasn't anything else for the bus to be used for, rather than it needed to be half-hourly.
There is only 1 gap between 20.55 and 21.55. The late duty drivers meal break is then

I've been informed there's actually no reduction in TfGM funding*. D&G told TfGM they needed to increase fares or needed more subsidy to keep the existing timetable running, so they worked together to find a way of keeping fares and subsidies the same but with some services with low loadings withdrawn.
* At least in actual funding, it's possible it's a reduction in relative terms if it's been frozen rather than increasing in line with inflation.
I think there's been a breakdown on the 88 route today. 4 Solos were running the 88 first thing, a Enviro 200 was running the 13:35 Knutsford-Altrincham and it was over 30 minutes late.
On a related point there's at least one of the Wincham based Versas which need their brakes looking at, based on how much squealing they make when the bus stops.
Solo 45 suffered a shattered destination glass. The driver had to take the bus to Wincham and retrieve the spare which was Enviro200 30. He was then instructed to run empty to Macclesfield and pick up service there. Hence the extreme lateness. There have only been 2 Versas at Wincham for some weeks now. One always seems to be under repair. One of the big Solos has been working 82s as replacement.

I believe D&G weren't have a good day on 88/89s yesterday as another vehicle lost a nearside wing mirror.
Will the 2 vehicles have to go to Crewe now to be repaired or will Crewe do the repairs at Winchem? Only with the missing mirror I dont think the bus can be driven can it?
Both will likely be repaired at Wincham, a glass firm will do the destination glass and there is a stock of spare mirrors kept up there.
Another was involved in an RTA. Not serious just added to the abundent body damage already on the vehicle.
