It was indeed empty, I rode on it down to Didsbury from Northenden Village, another woman got onboard and was very confused, driver wasn't 100% of landmarks along the way, luckily, me been local, I knew where she wanted and explained it was a replacement in part of the Stagecoach 370 that TfGM had withdrawn.
I wonder if a bigger bus will be used from next week though when schools return as the two Didsbury high schools use to fill up the 370 quite a lot.
They still hadn’t updated some stops yesterday.
The didsbury schools actually have a dedicated school bus (run by stagecoach). I suspect given that there will be less tendency for using the 370 (270) now you can’t use your dayrider on it, more kids will use the school bus (which runs at exactly the same time as the 270).

Is the designated schoolbus open to any schoolkid or only those who qualify for assisted transport i.e. usually only those living 3 or more miles from the school who are attending the nearest school with a place? Also does it follow exactly the same route or would some pupils have to walk further if they used one bus over the other?

It’s not a ysb (although iirc it has been in the past), so it’s open to anyone (general public too). I don’t think any part of the route is more than 3 miles by the crow from either parrswood or Barlow.
It follows exactly the same route until northenden, where it turns off and terminates a short distance further down towards the stagecoach sharston depot.
For any fare paying person a stagecoach ticket is the best to have as they have dominance over most of the useful routes in the area.
Traditionally parrswoods catchment terminated at northenden. (I’m unsure of Barlow), and any kids living further along have been affected by the re-routing of the 270 anyway.
D&G's new timetable booklet includes all routes, except the 270, plus Select Bus, High Peak routes into Macclesfield and Midland Classic services into Uttoxeter.

I haven't seen one of those. The TfGM leaflet of the 88/88A/89/288 has appeared in Knutsford Library which is much better set out than the Cheshire East leaflet but as of last Friday they still only had A4 black and white computer print outs for the 87 (D&G) and 47 (Network Warrington.)
I picked up the last copy from Crewe library. Some buses had copies but they seemed to be tucked down the side of the driver, rather than where they were obvious.
According to the fleet list on ukbuses.co.uk 49 YJ08 PJU and 50 YJ08 PJV have 21 seats, while the ex-Go Goodwins examples 129, 130 and 131 have 28 seats. I've been on the ex-Go Goodwins ones but not on 49 and 50 but from outside they look around the same length. Do 49 and 50 really have 7 seats less? That seems quite a big difference.

If they are the ones I’m thinking of, they were new to an airport shuttle company so may have had racks on originally? Then been upseated.

Found a photo of one showing they had a luggage rack behind the driver:

So have they since been replaced by extra seats?

They still have the luggage racks so have 8 seats fewer than the ex-Go Goodwins ones. It also seems D&G have put them in a common pool with the ex-Go Goodwins ones opposed to keeping the ones with fewer seats and a luggage rack on specific workings.
