First time I've seen something different on 84x a streetlight today.

Was something tracking incorrectly? Bus times showed 2 X Solos and 1 X Metrocity being used yesterday with 2 X Streetlites just starting out on it for today.

136 an ex Ross Bus Solo SR was tracking on it on Tuesday.
Not quite sure why you should say that, all my post says was it was the first time I'd seen other than 90 or 91.

Because the bus tracking didn't show a Streetlite on the 84X until the day after you posted that, so if you'd seen a Streetlite it might have been useful for anyone to know what journey it was on, if they are trying to spot a specific vehicle.

There are definitely some machines tracking incorrectly, as the vehicles tracking on the 82 are commonly tracking on other services at the same time.
No two buses look the same on the 88 today. They're using a plain white Enviro (91), a Centrebus livered Enviro, a D&G red Streetlite and a D&G 'Orange 1' Solo.

90 failed on the 88 on Friday evening and doesn't look to have tracked since.
Two Enviros have been given a "84X Fast and Direct" livery. They are 4 YX16 OHW and 123 YW68 PBU.

And both on there today.

Is the 84X any more faster or direct than the Stagecoach 84?

Most of the 84 operates via Willaston Village, whereas the 84X stays on the Main Road

Unusually for a D&G service they've revised the timetable to reduce padding for a faster end-to-end journey. On the 88 they don't care they have excessive padding in Wilmslow, especially for Knutsford bound journeys where they can arrive early at Bank Square and the driver can not bother departing on time but still arrives early at the station.
