Solo SR being used for driver training on the 88 route this afternoon. It left Knutsford bus station at around 13:10.
D&G and High Peak have produced a joint timetable booklet for all their services in Cheshire East.

The 3 buses I've seen on the 88 route today have all been Solo SRs.
Observed on the 88 today were Solo SR's 104, 106 and one other unknown.

They'll be a total of 5 buses on the route now the services have been re-timed to take 65 minutes and have a 15 minute layover at Knutsford bus station. The 13:05, 13:35 and 14:35 departures from Knutsford were all SRs - I didn't catch their registrations or fleet numbers.
Brilliant, seems D&G are settling in nicely on the 88. Least they had sense to allow extra time on the route.

The Solo SRs are getting a lot of positive comments from passengers. Hopefully they are going to be the regular buses for the route.

A Streetlite has returned to the 300 this week. They were the usual bus type but had been replaced by Enviro 200s and Solos recently.

The tender allowed extra time
From what I was told from a friend of mine who works for Cheshire County Council 88s should in theory be sticking to Solo SR operation.

I wondered whether it was D&G or Cheshire East's decision to change the PVR from 4 to 5, so if it was the latter D&G didn't gain quality points by including it in their bid.

There aren't that many buses currently at D&G's Crewe depot which meet the requirements for the 88 route so the SRs are probably the best option as they meet the requirements without being too difficult to manoeuvre around parked cars on the residential streets.
VDL/MCV 133 YJ60GGV is on the 88 today. Could have something to do with Solo SR 104 YJ13HND breaking down in Wilmslow...
