There is a Saturday service.
Presumably subsided. They have been talking to Cheshire East about 'the number of services.'
Note the Saturday timetable looks like it has been done so the same 2 drivers can run it all day - with gaps around lunchtime.
Its not clear how it turns at Handforth - Plumley Road doesn't look suitable on Streetview.

It shows as Wilmslow Road/Spath Lane meaning it would then go up Wilmslow Road and turn around at the roundabout.

The route guidance Doesn’t have it actually on spath Lane - it could turn at the a555 roundabout, or do a full loop on spath Lane.

It could be - I'm not so sure though, as the 11:45 journey from Macclesfield (arriving back in Macclesfield at 13:39) seems too much of an anomaly - most of the other trips start at XX:15 and arrive back at YY:09 - but there is also a morning trip arriving in Macclesfield at 08:39 and an evening trip departing Macclesfield at 17:45. My guess would be that these work onto and off other routes, but I could be wrong.

If Wincham drivers are running it, I imagine the 38 will stay completely separate and it's only the 88, 288 or Handforth Dean shuttle where there could be interworking.
I don't really see the 11:45 working as an anomaly. It's a 60 minute frequency in the morning, reduces to a 90 minute and then returns to a 60 minute frequency in both directions. It's similar to how the High Peak timetable for the 19 operates following the subsidy reduction and means a reduced frequency service to allow for driver breaks rather than a 'missing service' like used to be the case with the 300 Knutsford Circular and the old GHA commercial service between Macc and Congleton.
Possibly the first and last service times are because some people work on Saturdays and when Cheshire East did the bus review some people commented that a 17:35 last bus from Macc was too early as they finished work at 17:30 and that only gave them too little time to make the last bus.

It's good that that is how it is, in my opinion, rather than having a 2-hour gap in the service.
I'm just saying it's an anomaly because, if they were to use the same drivers all day, there would be a roughly half-hour break before the 11:45-13:39 trip, then another half-hour break, before then carrying on. I think it would be more usual to have one longer break, such as by the driver coming off or going onto an 88.
It will be turning round at the roundabout
