Interesting journey: https://bustimes.org/vehicles/dagc-122-y.../522733097 Presumably the bus developed a fault at Henbury and then it was fixed.

However, given the driver on this journey: https://bustimes.org/vehicles/dagc-105-y.../522760617 would have driven past it, why didn't the passengers transfer to the 130 bus, so the 88 vehicle could just run empty directly to Macclesfield bus station for the return working?

The operator has informed Cheshire East that these three vehicles will be the normal designated vehicles for the 38 route. Although, as the daytime service isn't subsided, they aren't under any contractual obligation to stick to that.

I think you mean that the daytime service is commercial?
Not all journeys will be. One of the late evening buses is cross linked off the Macc 3/10 circuit, so likely to be a 17 plate ex Cardiff E200MMC.
Half the 88 work is set to transfer from Wincham to Macclesfield on 22 January. 89 and 188 to remain at Wincham. Be interesting to see if they standardise the fleets a bit. I wonder if it'll mean 2 of the 31/37 diagrams will transfer from Crewe to Wincham? If it does it'll mean there won't be much use for short Enviros or 28 seater Solos at Wincham. While they can get away with putting one on the 82 and another on the 49, the other allocations will all need to be 35 seats or more.

CN17 BHE isn't joining it's siblings at D&G. It's gone to Chaserider and been given their new red and blue livery.
Although allocated to Chaserider at Cannonk, CN17 BHE has D&G Bus fleetnames

Depending on the time it was taken, it was either not tracking, or tracking as something else:

If it's not tracking - maybe look out for missing 38 journeys on bus times - it might be running them!
Yes - I'd noticed missing (or unreported) journeys but since coming across the photo they always seem to have a random bus on the third turn!

I'll have to time my newspaper run to see a 38.
