It's only the Saturday CEC supported service being under threat of withdrawal.
On the face of it, a bit soon after introduction, although with Crewe now working it, perhaps the cost of that has pushed it over the (Alderley)Edge.
Cheshire East council are saying the whole service has been cancelled (which is in line with the registration cancellation.)
The Wilmslow.co.uk article has been updated to say TfGM and Cheshire East are currently looking at different options.
I saw an Enviro 200 on route 288 this afternoon, 64-reg. I rarely see the route but thought it used mainly if not entirely Solos.
There's currently only one Solo (140) at Winchem at the moment, Winchem's fleet is now mainly Enviro200s along with the Versa's that operate 82 Chester service.
Speaking to someone from D&G yesterday and I was informed that they are going to be looking what kind of services they are going to operate on a week by week basis at the moment considering how things are at the moment hence why the website only lists what services are operating this week at the moment.
Also drivers duties have obviously changed from this coming week some drastically as well with some drivers that normally do set hours currently having to do longer hours and some drivers that normally start later having to come in for early shifts so each driver is doing similar hours.

These have been the regular allocation for a few months now.

Probably a good idea, as its predecessor route 370 had Enviro 200s and even full-size single-decks and occasional double-decks with Stagecoach.

Indeed. The bus which ran the 06:34 East Didsbury to Airport and 07:39 Airport to Altrincham was a Solo. That one then went on to the 88 with a long Enviro on the early 88 which carried the St Ambrose pupils going on to the 288 but as you say most 288 services have been Enviros for a while.

Their was a brief point earlier this year where they must of been elsewhere (Northwich possibly) and most journeys tended to be a 55 Plate Solo but like previously mentioned the Solo’s bar 1 have now left. Most 88 journeys of late appear to be 56 or 57 Reg Mini Enviro’s. The Versa’s allocated to Wincham are not very common on the 288 having only travelled on one myself on the route and that was back in June last year!

The Versas are supposed to be reserved for the 82 route due to better performance than the Enviros on steep hills and there's only 3 at Wincham and the 82 has a PVR of 3. I have seen one running an 88 once, as well as one being used as a staff changeover vehicle once. There's also photos of one being used on a late night rail replacement bus between Knutsford and Chester on Flickr.
There was one of the ex-Go Goodwins 11 reg small Enviros on the 88 both yesterday and Friday. They are easy to spot with the extra exterior lights along the sides! I think yesterday YX59 BXY was also on the 88 and one of the 64 reg Enviros was definitely on it, meaning there was just one of the older small Enviros.
On Saturday 2 of the ex Goodwins Enviro200s were out on 88s, interesting thing about the ex Goodwins Enviro200s is that on one of them the roof mounted (above the destination screen) air horns do still actually work.
