I would just like to say that it has today been confirmed that Arriva has accepted the deal and with their last day of service being the 9th January 2021 there is also a list of services which will be taken over.

I wonder whats happening vehicle wise then?
I wondered if Select might move to Cannock, as looking at google earth their existing base has no maintenance facility and they are presumably using a third party.

They have better facilities now apparently. Proper workshop and it's all tarmaced. The google maps image is old.

The list of routes is interesting given the 1 Cannock to Walsall hasn’t actually run for quite a few months now, and the 3 is only running as far as Brownhills. Arriva aren’t running on the 12 either, Select have been running this by themselves. The 6 is currently run by Telford garage and has been since Stafford depot shut so the 5 might potentially have a slight change to take account of it not going to Rickerscote and back.

Note the quote from the D&G MD about creating a 'new refreshing brand'

Wonder if that means the D&G brand will disappear altogether or whether it means a possible merger with another company like Select to create a new company, like how High Peak got created.

1 and 12 got cut at lockdown and I presume Arriva won't put them back in because of the low revenue

I can't say about other days but today at least, the 6 was ran with Cannock buses. The current timetables show that the services can be ran standalone. The 6 does have a fair bit of layover though. Something which D&G will likely solve by putting an extra 10 minutes into the service somehow.

It has been mentioned somewhere else that it will be a local brand 'Chaserider' but there is no official confirmation on this. We will have to wait and see what comes about. I don't think that D&G as a brand/company will go though.

It's interesting that D&G has already changed some of the services. That seems like a strange thing for them to do given they have no experience with the network yet. There seems to also be no intent on bringing back the 1 or the 3 through to Walsall which is a shame.

Based on the timetables though, I can see that D&G are taking over the Arriva Cannock depot (and not moving as per suggestions on other forums). The 2 and 70 note 'Bridgeford, Chaserider Depot' as a timing point.

I am certainly interested to see how D&G deal with the expansion and I hope for passengers sake that they don't go down the usual timetable padding route as that could spell disaster for the services (as it normally means frequency reductions)

When this rumour emerged a couple of months ago it was suggested the Walsall routes be taken over by National Express WM instead of D&G. So maybe NXWM will introduce routes 1 & 3 themselves?
