Does look weird seeing First livery with Stagecoach logo, more so when they out in service. The moment has arrived though.
Another pic from Flickr of a Stagecoach bus (36782, which is a 62 plate vehicle) arriving at First's Wigan depot on Wednesday. Not sure if this is being used in service in Wigan.

Does anyone know if anything's happened to 10051, like for example a collision or major failure? Or does it just not like working Saturdays?
Today was I think the fourth time in the past couple of months that I've been in either Oldham or Failsworth on a Saturday, on three of the four occasions for sufficiently long to see every vehicle that was on the 76. I've seen every other member of the batch several times (today, they were all out) apart from 10051!

I hope these vehicles are repainted or scrapped asap, to see the Stagecoach fleet name debased on such a foul background is not something Stagecoach Management should allow for a minute longer than necessary.
Hopefully by January, all traces of First will have been removed/destroyed, - bus stops, signage, publicity material, staff uniforms (compulsorily burnt in the last case).

This makes me wonder whether Stagecoach may soon cascade some of their own Volvo Olympians to Wigan to replace Dennis Arrows?
I am encouraged that Stagecoach Megariders will immediately be valid on Wigan routes. I have touted a Stockport - Bolton - Wigan - Leigh - Wigan - Manchester - Stockport round trip. I may well do this on a Bank Holiday such as next Easter Monday as route 33 will be Stagecoach on Sundays/ Bank Holidays (and Mon-Sat eves) only. (Although I visit transport forums most Sundays I rarely have bus trips then apart from shopping or special events).

One of the Bryn drivers said that 'R-plate deckers' are staying for school work only, so I assume he meant the Arrows.
A few pics from today with a brief visit to Wigan depot on the first day of Stagecoach operation, plus a visit to Stagecoach Merseyside's Gillmoss depot, where most of the ex Scottish darts are now being stored.

Noticeable that the Excels appear to not have Stagecoach logos - a sign that we have seen the last of these vehicles in service in the area.
Stagecoach Manchester have published their leaflet for Christmas services. They say the Wigan service info is available at stagecoachbus.com/wiganchristmas but the page does not exist, or not yet anyway.
On a positive note, a few routes are running on Boxing Day and on New Year's Day for the first time. These are respectively the 50/ 76/ 109/ 204/ 330 and 50, 201, 203 and 219.
