Interesting story in one of the local Glossop rags tonight with regards to the recent changes to the 236/7.
Apparently Stagecoach made the changes following a long campaign to improve the service around Hollingworth, Tintwhistle and Hadfield by local councillors, who wanted larger buses, and a more frequent service (presumably it just refers to the 237!).
Something I wasn't aware of was that the 'new' 236/7 service is a trial until later in the year, and if it successful stagecoach have also promised to reinstate a service from Glossop - Tintwhistle - Hyde service ( along the lines of the 397).
As a regular user of the service I have to say things do seem to be running ok, although daytime 236's do seem to be a lot quieter than previously. The only issue is in Ashton bus Station where often 236/7's turn up while the 217/218 is at the stand so passengers are forced to board in the middle of the carriageway.
