Saw 22158 on the 149 last Sunday. First never used anything that old on the route on a Sunday! ;-)

Interesting Hyde Road Depot allocations this evening:

2X Hybrid Enviro 400s on X50
1X X50 branded on 250

Also it seems that there are going to be problems to Wilmslow Road services this weekend due to a road collapse near MRI which is already causing delay and diversions to all services using this stretch of Wilmslow Road

With a pic of YX60 DWZ, it notes that these are the only Prmos in the whole of Stagecoach. With that in mind, my guess would be that they will only last as long as needed for contract work, and then they would probably go on the basis that they could yield a good price for a small operator to whom they are more suitable.

This announcement may at least partially explain why so many (ex) London Tridents have stopped off on their way back from Glasgow. In saying that, keep an eye on the VOSA website for another partial reason for this!

I enjoyed reading that article. In a way, it could have been more interesting had they waited a few months until we saw some ramifications of the JPT takeover being cleared. For example, I wonder whether the imminent Enviro400s 10401-29 will be for routes 85 and 86, and whether these could be extended to Middleton and NMGH to replace routes 112 and 118 and thus provide new cross-city services?

(21/08/2014 21:46)Mayneway Wrote: [ -> ]Despite the much speculated painting of Tridents I would imagine Stagecoach will now be keen to ditch the JPT livery once and for all, so I would think the Primo's will fairly quicky gain Stagecoach livery (which will be interesting!) so the annoying 'odd doors' will hopefully be a thing of the past.

I'm told Stagecoach had to carry out work on all the Primo's to bring them up to a serviceable standard, plus it was suggested elsewhere soon after the takeover that Stagecoach had paid off the remaining finance on these and possibly the Enviro's so I would think they have a rather high book price so Stagecoach will be keen to get their monies worth out of them, plus despite thier looks their young, low floor, tender spec buses so I can see them staying for now.

I reckon Stagecoach will repaint ex-JPT vehicles they are retaining sooner rather than later, potentially by Christmas.

There are 31 MANs currently allocated, so there's no way 21 Enviro200s will replace them all.

As some MANs are 54 and 06-reg, I reckon these will stay at ST unless needed as replacements for other ex-JPT stock.

A rogue working was 38-branded Enviro400 19500 on route 197 this afternoon.
Saw 36105 on the 112 this morning, and when I went past Middleton Depot in the midle of the morning the yard was empty apart from a lonely solo and some JPT debris at the very back.

Are the loans to cover JPT buses being put into Stagecoach livery, or are there problems cpvering the ex-JPT routes. RT59 JPT was in use on Friday, still in JPT colours with the logo on the front.

Are you referring to the Voith SPD's?

I went on 33775 a while ago (last year) which had something wrong with the gearbox. The torque converter in the transmission wasn't allowing the engine to Idle at normal steed, which kept causing the engine to stall (the ATF oil was also overheating and started smoking on some occasions). Due to the fact that it kept stalling the batteries where eventually flat.

I'm not sure if 33775 is the only one in existence that had both the earlier Cummins 6BT and Voith DIWA combination.

I don't think 36105 is a loan it's one of several that are to move to Middleton to replace some of the MANs in poorest condition. What I don't get is if several Enviro200's move from ST to MN allowing the same number of older MANs to be withdrawn completely it dosen't actually fix the shortage of vehicles at Middleton, and dosen't free up any of the JPT vehicles for repaint.
The ex-London Tridents, which have recently seen use on the Commonwealth games in Glasgow, are currently being repainted in MagicBus, are to retaining the centre exits, so far noted are 17507 & 17516

I got told the same although I was also told thier a 'stopgap' hence why they arnt going to the trouble of converting them to single door. I presume they won't use the centre doors though.

Theirs a lot of speculation over exactly which tridents at Wigan will be retained by Manchester gaining the Blue paint. The suggestion being that the 17### staying in Manchester and the 18### ones returning to London. Although someone else has suggested Manchester will retain some of the 04 reg Tridents with these being converted to single door and painted once the first batch have been done - but best to wait and see. Certainly more interesting times to come!
(30/08/2014 21:06)Dentonian Wrote: [ -> ]Actually, I have 33775/80 as still in service, but 33772/3/9 + 34116 are in reserve, and I believe there are still a few MANs in reserve that aren't for disposal. In addition, I saw 33100 on the road the other day, albeit not in service.

Are the others Voith like 33775 or Alison like Rosso X-JCW and former S-KRN SPD's?
