There's been a campaign by a local councillor and MP to get Arriva Buses Wales to extend the Penycae service to Cefn Mawr, as currently there is no direct bus service from Ponciau, Rhos and Penycae to the village of Cefn Mawr.
Arriva buses Wales have carried out a feasibility study and have decided against any extension.
Personally I didn't think the service would be extended as there are plenty of buses serving Cefn Mawr (Arriva Midlands & GHA) but see no reason why one of Arriva Midlands services (say the 2B for example) can't be diverted up through Ponciau to Penycae and then down Stryt Las and carry on it's normal route to Cefn Mawr, similar to the route that the early morning GHA 5M does. Perhaps GHA might consider continuing the 5M route through the day, after all their new bus livery does say "connecting communities"

That is possibly the most pathetic campaign going why the hell would Arriva Buses Wales extend the 3/4 to Cefn when Arriva run the 2B and 2C down there (yes it Midlands but still Arriva) and GHA send god knows how many vehicles down there in an hour, if people need to go to Cefn or beyond they can catch the 3 or 4 to Johnstown, Pentre Bychan or Wrexham and then jump on a bus onwards why the hell would someone get on the 4 to Cefn via Pen-y-cae, stupidest campaign ive ever heard off.

There would be more chance of us winning the lottery than seeing the 3 & 4 going to cefn! Laugh
