Generally as the weather gets warmer, more buses break down, so its a problem every depot faces not just one. Add this to daily VORs then you've got a problem. Theres only so many buses available across the fleet, there cant always be a spare available.
This is where Stagecoach's Policy of having a Reserve Fleet really pays of coz if a Depot of theirs becomes really short on Buses they pull something out of Reserve and over to the Depot thats short

Basically a extended version of my answer above Luke haha
Least people actually agree with me on that one!

Plus on top of that LJ51DDA is in repair, LJ51DCY is away for repair and J900ABW is away having a repair.

So that brings us three buses down.

So they have a reserve fleet just standing around must have money to burn as to be used a short notice they would have to taxed and have MOT,

Also a bus by law must have a full inspection every 4 to 5 weeks if not it is VOR, the depot I was at had a PVR of 42 buses but a allocation of 47 so we had 5 spare bus on paper but in fact it would be 4 as every week there was on of for a full week for MOT prep also there would be 3 buses off for inspection,
Agreed, sometimes Reserve Buses come in handy, like remember the other Summer when Gillmoss became short so they put the S reg Renowns back out? Sometimes its handy yo have a few Buses parked up there for Emergency's
Route 3 Penycae is now interworking with Route 4 instead of the 33, and is using 5 vehicles. I suppose this change is in readiness for the new Enviro 200's which will be introduced on the Penycae's shortly. I've noticed that the punctuality has improved a great deal over the last couple of weeks since the change from 3/33 to 3/4.

Interesting, are the 32/33 still interworking?
The change happened ready for the Arrival of the new Enviro 200s and the 32/33 do interwork but now with the 7/8 and 26/27.
