is this a adl problem or a arriva maintenance one?
Well Bootle don't appear to have reliability problems with theirs.
Last I heard, it's as a result of the refitted electrical systems which were worked on during the conversion process in order to provide the passenger power etc. It's reportedly the primary cause of most faults. I think it was mentioned that ADL were meant to be coming out to assess the problem and hopefully rectify it but certainly don't quote me on that.
Thats what i was told too CX54 by a garunteed source.
Thanks for the confirmation MM.
just generally because Sapphire is a waste of time and Arriva not being able to do anything right as per usual...atleast North East have sense and by BRAND NEW Vehicles and Pulsar's for their sapphire as much as i hate Pulsars id rather have ours back compared to this Trident Crap!!...thats what happens when you tart up 4 year old crap!
6 year old crap you mean mate
Not quite, try 5 year old, 58 plate September 2008 - March 2009. I know you are having issues with them in Wales but I wouldn't say that they were crap, its obviously an error made when the upgrade was done and not necessarily the buses fault.
If they have to be reworked as a batch , i wonder what Arriva will replace them with in the short term , Pulsar's perhaps , will have to be something half decent , with decent capcity not an MPD.
Wrexham's Enviro400s were all new in January 2009, so they are about four years and eight months old. Not at an age where reliability should be causing major issues, that's for sure.

As has been mentioned, Bootle don't have a reliability issue with theirs. In fact, the 09-plate batch seem to have sterling reliability. Not uncommon for all 12 of these to be out on weekdays, maintenance permitting. Personally, I like Enviro400s as a product. They aren't as good ride-wise as the Gemini 2 DLs but given the plush upstairs interiors Wrexham's now boast, "crap" seems a bit harsh.
