Yes the depot has to be contacted for resources etc...which i think ensuring passengers actually have a bus is more important.
It takes less than a minute for the depot staff to ring into the social media team with a update.. Fair play they had supervisors out but it doesn't help people who are getting on the bus along the route - hence a couple of updates would be useful.

At Stagecoach depots, the Management and Allocators have access to the social media account and put live updates on themselves. They also have a live GPS feed to their phones of where the buses are located. Would of thought Arriva had the same...
That's great for people in Wrexham, Mold or Chester. What about those at stops in between with no supervisors telling them what's going on and no information. As has been said very poor. Takes seconds to update it. If the social media have access to the live map which I'm sure they do they wouldn't even need to contact the depot. Lack of information will probably be the single biggest passenger complaint from yesterday opposed to lack of service.
Former Blue Bus 34, latterly ArrivaNW 2560 (V34 ENC) SB220/Ikarus has now been scrapped.
As seen here, PVS Barnsley....

Notice its V34ENC that's being scrapped, if I remember this was the most unrealible of the lot even when it was at Bolton Depot, sluggish and used to regularly struggle on hills, if you spoke to any Bolton Driver at the time about these trio they would probably end up complaining about V34ENC and its various faults
I agree Social Media is very important these days and is one of many different tools to inform passengers of any impending delays , and also so is boots on the ground at major locations advising what is going on.
As it stands at the moment Wrexham will gain the 6 Enviro 200s (although pushing for 9) which will be brand new obviously which will replace X212JOF, X214JOF, X217JOF and Y548UJC, Y549UJC and Y552UJC...there are supposedly more Solos arriving at the same time as the Enviro 200 rumored to be MAX as well as the Enviro 200s but the depot cannot confirm wether it will be Solos withing the Welsh fleet possibly ones from Chester but there is rumor to for them to be the Solo SRs from St Helens or Winsford and on top of that all LJ51*** MPDs will remain at Wrexham being 0914/6/7/8/9/20 but other 09** will be withdrawn to as well as any other remaining MPDs...just a quick update.

With stock leaving St Helens whilst the deckers are incoming and no known replacements on order for there or Winsford, I can't see SRs leaving personally. I'm sure the depots in question would be reluctant to let 12 plate vehicles leave without similarly aged replacements anyway.

The only possible way I could see a cascade of SRs would be for Renowns to remain at St Helens instead of move over to Green Lane with new vehicles on order to eventually replace those next year.
Not 100% confirmed but the rumour is that st helens are suppose to be ordering streetlites but unsure if they are to replace the x reg stuff but please don't take it as gospel truth as its only a rumour I've heard.
