2141-4 are 10.7M though the ones we are getting are going to be 8.9M, there is no possible information on the fleet numbers yet although i would have thought they will go in the 9** series following the Ex London Darts possibly 0925 onwards or 0950 onwards because we wont be the only depot to buy some now or in the near future but yes id say 09** series, if not im guessing we could possibly go for the 10** series eg 1001 onwards as i dont think there has ever been anything numbered within that series. :-')
The scanias use to be 10** series
Great to see Wrexham getting new buses

I can't believe that they're getting the 8.9M varient, a total waste of money in my opinion. They are way too small for route 3, just like the MPD's are now. Every day last week I saw MPD's going past my house with full standing loads and "Sorry Bus full, bus not stopping" displayed.
10.2M would be the ideal length for route 3 & 4. Are management at Arriva Buses Wales that incompetent that they don't know how many passengers are on each journey, or don't they care if people have to stand up? Or more than likely, Wrexham get the cheapest version and just be thankful. If it comes to the crunch, people would prefer an older larger vehicle with a seat, than a brand new 8.9m one and paying £2.50 to stand up for 15 - 20 minutes.
My thoughts exactly. Replacing buses that are too small with new buses that are too small. What's the point? Confirms that Arriva buses Wales really couldn't care less about Wrexham locals. On a trip to Rhos last week I was one of 14 standing leaving Wrexham bus station and stood all the way there. All for new buses, but this really isn't progress. Very disappointing if correct.
Arh yes the Scania's were in the 10** thats correct more than likely be the 09** series then i really dont know as of yet most information passed on to me will be placed her so watch this space.

Its a total waste of money is it? they simply cant go for a 10.2M varient anymore even though i think its a more suitable option but drivers refuse bigger buses nowadays and to be fair some area's are tight and technically having smaller buses benefits other routes in case of breakdowns etc...if Wrexham didn't really care about Wrexham they wouldn't be operating here would they and yet they are not just for the 3&4 they are for the 32&33 which in some areas is also quite tight because of parked cars etc.

I'm rather happy and excited to see us finally getting some new buses its about time to.
On some bus routes parked cars can be one of the single biggest hazards particulary in either council estates or former council estates where there is a distinct lack of off road parking , particulary if some councils have started to do is book cars for parking half on half off the road , its a no win situation. If as some say the services are running to capacity maybe its time to increase the frequency , a passenger standing up is going to be an unhappy passenger no matter what.

Im not disagreeing in anyway, im just saying its completely impossible to take a full size vehicle around Llay and Pen-Y-Cae these days its to tight in some places.
Yet they managed it with 2431 very recently and both routes saw regular allocation of full size darts only a few years ago. Not to mention 2799 covering locals when it wasn't required on sapphire 1. There's no reason whatsoever for full size buses not to be used on penycaes, llays or caia park circulars unless they increased frequency. It's unacceptable for people to be left behind at bus stops with a 30 minute wait for the next bus because a service is too full, and for it to happen frequently.
Actually for your knowledge i was on board 2431 on a Service 33 and it missed parts of the route out, so thats that point proven, plus if it is so easy i think you should apply for a job at Wrexham ask for a 10.7M and see the magic happen. 2799 was used only on the 7/8 and ran 27's not the 26. and like i said if your a wizard grab yourself a Job at Caego as they are taking on and then get yourself a 10.7M vehicle and see how it goes.
