Why is it that 4000/1/2 never seem to last long in service .
They're just generally unreliable vehicles!
DAF/Cadet X446 HJA (2446) was on the 432/433/437 yesterday evening, along with DAF/ALX300 V414 ENC (2414)!
Also following on from what 27701 just said about saturday night 2409, was out on late 471/2s as well.
Enviro400 seen on the M62, Junction 6 heading for Manchester earlier on. Going for it, passing cars and vans in the middle lane! (and no wonder with the heavy traffic I seen on Edge Lane)

It did have 'Not In Service' on the dests, but was most probably on the Mersey Ferries.
Reading the above message, saw at least 2 Enviro400's working the Mersey Ferries service on Lime St on Saturday, never heard of them working it before.....
They usually turn up on it when they are short on the Gemini's. Either off the road or out in service, and cannot be changed over in time.

I'm not sure on how many of them have tachographs.
had 2448 on 487 this afternoon - brilliant ride
I didn't realise any had tachos and that was why the Geminis came specifically to replace Palatines on Ferries. So does this mean some of the Enviros have had tachos specially fitted?
They could use 'emergency tachographs' on the Enviros if no Geminis were available (this is on the assumption that none of the Enviros have tachographs fitted). All the emergency tachograph involves is the driver getting given a paper tacho chart which then has to be filled in manually. I believe there is a restriction as for how long theses can be used although what that is, I'm not sure.
