4105 is now repaired and back in service.

I think you might be right - the same bus (3040) has been on the same running board for three days running.

This is what happens,if it as a constent problem and there awaiting parts etc they keep them local so they dont have to lose much mileage as they can get to it quicker and normally if its a inspection bus then they can swap it over more easily.
2725 on 375/385 today
Marshall Dart 7664 (V664 DVU) has appeared at Canning Road apparently to replace 7649 which has suffered a gearbox failure and will not be repaired. However, 7664 has not been refurbished and still has manual blinds.

You must mean 7639 as 7649 was still in service at Bootle this morning on the 58! LOL

Very interesting, been told this week that after the step deckers have gone the datrs are next,also the weather causing problems tonight with 375 just running to skem concourse
Apparently Southport are not now receiving the ex-Blue Bus Tridents, at least not imminently. DLAs from Bootle are due to replace the Palatines (sob!).

The Darts are due for replacement, with first generation Pulsars from Runcorn stepping in. Or cascaded Cadets from London, depending on who you talk to!
