That probably goes some way to explaining 3043 being out on the 47. Thought it seemed unusual an unbranded one getting out on the Sunday 47. This might well be usual, but there was a 61-plate Pulsar on the 300 too. I seem to remember it being entirely Renowns a week or two ago.

I seen a Marshall on the 300 last Sunday evening - it might have been V637 DVU (7637), but I can't confirm that. If I remember correctly, a 61-plated Pulsar 2 was also on the service.
Anything goes at CR lately. Branding means nothing & the fleet allocation guidance has gone out the window. Pretty much anything ends up anywhere. There was even a double decker on the 44 a couple of weeks ago. That never happens!
To be fair, I can remember having an Atlantean on a 2/4 (42/44 in new money) when it was still Southport & District so it's not really a recent thing.

Pulsar 3085 (MX61 AVN) was on the 300 yesterday, so that may well have been the one you saw
I saw the 385 that goes past Bone island at 1:45 yesterday and the Volvo on it was Rapid had a excellent turn of speed and was nippy round the corners also Do Southport operate any short 375/385 in the evening anymore?.

Yeah, meanwhile the Olympians were on 43/6?! Oh yes and more 47/8 branded stock on locals as well.
Another era coming to an end.

Former MTL CNG powered Dennis Dart /Plaxton Super Pointer 2s 2291 to 2294 (ex-6248-6251) S248-251UVR are due to leave out of the fleet imminently. They are to be temporarily replaced by 4 Darts from Bootle in the next week.

When new these buses were amongst the most expensive Dennis Darts ever built at a cost of £145,000 each. Their original compressed natural gas (CNG) engines were mooted to have been £75k each. They were funded by MTL,Merseytravel, Sefton Council and the EEC to evaluate alternative fuels. The CNG was drawn directly from the mains and compressed through a special plant which has long since been demolished. As you are probably aware they were for operation on park and ride services.

Between 2003 and 2005 they were re-engined with conventional diesel Cummins 6BT engines and their distinctive roof pod fuel tanks removed. They have a fairly high specification body for a Plaxton Pointer with bonded glazing, individual seating etc.

Although not the most successful of experiments in its day they are forerunners to today's hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell and other alternative fuel experiments throughout the country.
Are the SPD's moving to another depot or scrap?
