It may look clean and tidy but being ex-london and 11 1/2 years old it probably has issues.

Agreed - the interior looks very well cared for considering is an ex-Londoner. A pity it's being stripped in many ways.
The engine is the main problem on ex london buses as they have heavy wear and tear but looking at the body and interior it still looks tidy.
It certainly very tidy, inside looks nice and clean. Thing is if the engine is knackered replacement dart engines can't be that hard to get, so it must have a problem that is terminal or they just don't see the point in putting another engine in it with it being the age it is even though we have older more untidy darts in service with other companies here.
Another arrival at HTL Buses today, brand new out of the factory, Optare Solo M720SRE, YJ13 HJV!
Photos again courtesy of HTL's management (as I've not been in work yet today!), I will get my usual set of photos of it as I do with all buses I drive very soon all being well!

New Solo should be on the 173/174 service tomorrow. All being well...
It seems to be missing the usual silver emblem which runs between the front set of headlights, front looks bare without it!
Interesting rear light cluster on it too, not one that I've seen before anyway. Is there a reason why it doesn't have the more usual rear light cluster featured on the Arriva SRs?

Slimline versions have those lights to reduce bus width.
Stagecoach use the same design

Used now on SR SL models and eventually planned to replace the normal light cluster in due course.
Cheers for that lads. Shame if they're going to replace the Versa style rear light cluster on the standard SR though as they don't look anywhere near as good!
