The assumption was other operators made "better" bids for these services, as for the drivers well its an industry wide problem and HTL did lose a few drivers directly to covid as well as the usual other things such as going to other operators for better pay and what not although they have at least caught up somewhat in this regard, at least when the September changes happen.
I understand the better bids, but to lose such numbers, including long established HTL operated routes, says something behind the scenes to me. Now that's just my opinion and I am not trying to start anything, just wondered if there was anything more official on it.
Nothing behind the scenes, they bid for all the routes that they wanted and were not successful with some of them - they will see it as nothing more than a bit of a breather to become more streamlined operationally and I am sure if any of those routes were to come up again they would bid for them.

Totally agree , I think this could take a lot of operational pressure off HTL and gives them a chance to concentrate on the routes they have from September an re-establish there operations back to normal frequencies etc.
Don't want to outright confirm this but it looks increasingly likely that the era of the Pointer/Dart combination is at an end here as SN06BMV is on the back wall now with sisters BMO/Y/Z.

End of an era if its indeed withdrawn just the 2 at Hattons left in public service in Merseyside
Confirmed withdrawn are Dart SN06BMV, Enviro 200s DK08AYV/SN10CAU & Optare Solos YJ12PMU/PLX & YJ61MOU. There will be others but can't properly confirm until service changes.
So with the service changes taking place the list of buses that are intended to be leaving the fleet are: Darts SN06BMV/Y, Enviro 200s DK08AYV/AZO, MX10DXO, SN10CAU, Optare Solos L15PPN, YJ56AUM, YJ61MOA/F/U, YJ12PNK/L/N & Optare Solo SRs YJ12PLX/PMU & YJ13HJV. I guess this list is subject to change and with buses unavailable there might still be some in use this week and of course some of those buses listed have been out of use for a while now.
YJ56 AUM is listed on CBM (Coach and Bus Market) as being on sale so today could’ve potentially been YJ56 AUM’s last day in service.

YJ13 HJV is listed on there too...
