Optare Solo V980 XUB has failed on the strand by Man Island
HTL appeared to be having a few difficulties with some of the new routes today. I was at a friends house near the Bull & Dog roundabout and around 1550, 2 SR's displaying 140 Rainhill went past within the space of about a minute on what is supposed to be an hourly service. My friend mentioned he had come back from St Helens earlier on a 140 and he had to direct the driver for part of the route, after a few wrong turns were taken. I presume this would have had a knock effect for the 60/141 as well. This route is quick tricky (especially with it's double run round Sutton Village/St Helens Junction) but surely this should have been prepared for before the routes commenced. Another minor issue is that the 17's today were still showing 17B.
I was told by someone yesterday HTL was seen route learning in St Helens and the person showing the Drivers the route did not know where they where going...
I still dont understand why Merseytravel have made the 33 every half an hour, Only needs an hourly frequency
The problem is merseytravel should of provided proper route training material i.e maps and proper route directions if thats the case or a merseytravel official should of shown someone from htl the routes to ensure the operation ran smoothly.
There will be teething problems for the first few days but that goes with all new changes so it should straighten itself out in the next few days.
I would of thought it would of been up to HTL to teach the Drivers the routes

You mean the 30. I can't understand why the 30 couldn't have been hourly as Chain Lane has always had an hourly Evening/Sunday service for as long as I can remember. It's the 33 which should have been half hourly, although equally I can't understand Arriva's sudden interest in the Chain Lane area on a Sunday daytime.

Same here I always thought the individual operators were ment to teach drivers. Councils and the PTE teaching the teachers for operators.
Yes sorry St Helens rider, I dont think the 33 needs a half hourly Service, seen it a couple of times tonight and both times it had 2 people on
Merseytravel are suppose to provide maps and descriptions on where the route is suppose to go then its down to the company to issue the route traing but when its a full review then surely having one of the merseytravel officials show the routes to an htl official then there would be less teething problems when its one company thats basically taken on all the tenders.
