Thought I saw a DLP on Friday morning turning of Speke Boulevard towards the Airport but thought it was a Gemini as I was a fair distance away on Speke Hall Ln
With credit to Brian Moore on the Arriva Southport Facebook page 2639 has now left Speke

Phil will be pleased! LOL

Haha indeed I am. Speke is no place for little guys like that!

By my reckoning, Speke is now Cadet-free for the first time since 2000.

I know the feeling! I was pleased when Green Lane became Dart free earlier in the year with the arrival of the second batch of Enviro400s for the West Derby Road corridor. Darts and Cadets are far too small for depots like Green Lane and Speke - it's great to see that capacity has been increased at both depots in the last twelve months
Is there something going on at Speke depot today as travelled down Queens Drive on the way to work as have only seen an one 81 going to Speke and none going to Bootle. Bit strange.
post so the other can be seen
4115 is on the 79 this afternoon
First ride of a DLP on 81 tonight that being 4181, not too bad, rattles at minimum so for a bus of its age quite good
However, these do seem a bit old fashioned compared to the Vlw's. Incidentally 4176 is also on 81 today.

From my limited experiences of the DLPs I agree that they're quite good buses with good ride quality and passenger comfort. I'm just wondering what 4176 and 4181 are replacing at Speke as I had assumed that 4182 was the replacement for 2639. Perhaps they could be displacing two Commanders to St Helens with 2701/2 now being converted to driver trainers?
Noticed 4177 on 79D today
