I agree each to their own but after driving both types of vehicle the dart is by far the best

Fair enough, I only travel on them and always on 81, obviously I wouldn't know what they are like to drive.
Was 7660 one of the batch that were new to speke for the 79 in the MTL days? if so its returned to its spiritual home before it embarks on its final journey.

7660 new to Green Lane, used on the 92 when new
Actually, I may as well post allocations when new.
7601-7611 Gillmoss
7612-7623 St Helens
7624-7632 Southport
7633 odd one this, reduced seating for a specific service, St Helens I think
7634-7652 Speke
7653-7665/7667-7676 Green Lane

HTH
Certainly 7651-7656 have spent a considerable proportion of their life based at Southport depot, I believe merely 3 months after delivery to Green Lane (could be incorrect here, however). A number of this small proportion of the batch, notably the sister pair of 7654 and 7655, are excellent even today and comparable with vehicles half their age. The levels of originality, bar the addition of the Blue Blocks moquette upon receipt of P&P, are second to none. Its pleasing to see the vast majority of the remaining serviceable allocation are on Southports books, where it is clear their long-established examples (above quoted examples) are in superior condition. A credit to the people who work on these vehicle on a day to day basis and have done since their arrival.
7633 Replaced the Leyland National "mobility bus" at Speke, hence it's current unusual layout from being upseated.

The seats replaced seats (front half of the bus) on 7633 were like sitting on rocks and the replacement handlebars had half of the paint peeled off revealing the original orange colour. It also had holes in the walls between widows where bars mounted across the windows had previously been!

Anyway this is off topic from speke so ill give over Smile
4112 all painted looking fresh!
Here's a pic
I sampled 4110 and 4121 on Friday - both on 86As between the airport and South Parkway. 4110 had a rattly back window downstairs, fumes at the back (especially when its cooling fan went on) and vibrated whilst idle. 4121 seemed to have bouncy suspension.

I also had Commander 2601 from the airport to Liverpool on the 500, which sounded dreadful. 7909, which I had from Liverpool to the airport beforehand, was excellent (great kickdown) with the odd rattle from its "shelf" and the front.
VLW 4201 has arrived at Speke mainly for use on the 699
