4110 has received a new overall advert for the Nokia Lumia 930, replacing its Liverpool John Moores University ad. Broadly blue, the new wrap looks quite nice in the flesh.

Of Speke's two remaining VLWs, which I assume are both staying permanently, 4209 was on the 81/81A and 4211 parked in the depot alongside two long lines of new Enviro400s led by 4556 (MX14HSA) and unregistered 4562.
Pic of 4573 has appeared on Facebook, '64' reg and unusually, DK64 rather than the more usual MX http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1...=1&theater

DK was a Cheshire index last used by Arriva for the Runcorn SB120's at least they have got a local index as other parts of the ARRIVA group have taken the index for were they were built some been Yorkshire ones

The yellow line across the front really does look atrocious. Shame to see that having come from the manufacturer.

I actually like the yellow line, although it should be across the front rather than just the middle

Indeed, I'm not a fan of it either. There does seem to be a lack of consistency with the yellow stripe on the front end. For example, some of the latest VLW cascades have it, others don't; some of the recent Pulsar and Pulsar 2 repaints have them, others don't.

Otherwise, the new Enviro400s look great and I can't wait to ride them in service. The B7TL/ALX400s have given sterling service on the 86/86A since 2006 and the new arrivals have a lot to live up to.

You refer to the 2 remaining VLWs. I may have issed something, but where have the others gone? I am surprised if this means they have left before the E40Ds have entered service!
3 have departed to Southport to replace DLAs there. I think the loss of these before the Enviro 400s entering service was cushioned by the former Welsh Commanders entering use here.
4209 and 4211 remain with 4206 and 4207 due from St Helens imminently. As CX06 says, the arrival of the Commanders plus the summer PVR reductions have allowed 4210, 4212 and 4213 to depart for Southport before the Enviro400s enter service.
