They were acquired I understand to replace other Geminis which went to Southport and are used mainly on the 81 or 699.
4206/07 are effectively direct replacements for the two former Blue Bus Renowns which moved to St Helens shortly after the VLWs arrived.
Not sure what is going on with 81's recently but the seem to miss one out and then 2 come together with one being at the right time. Not even the same journey all the time and always bootle bound. Strange.
Noticed that myself with the 81s, and also the 61s, depsite its constant timetable revisions they still turn up in 2s

4120 has gained a all over side advert for The Hunger Games movie.
No fewer than two of the new Enviro 400s were on the 78 yesterday and another was on the 76 nice to see them spreading their wings. The other buses out and about were Geminis did not see a single commander or other single decker out at all.
They do seem to use almost entirely double deckers now on Sundays, which is a positive move. The B7TL/ALX400s were still seeing use on the 81, 500 and 699 last time I saw the Sunday allocations.
4124 crept onto the 86A this evening. Think it was as a result of 4567 failing on Hardman st
