Thats a shame, was looking for this today as well!

Did everyone get off it safely?
The number of buses withdrawn by fire seems to be very high. In the last year or two, from memory there's been 2 ALX300s, 2721, 2725, 4118 (although not engine fire), 6005 and now the Prestige - I may have missed some out. Is there a problem with maintenance or is this "par for the course"
2725 wasn't fire either, that was due to an accident. Must admit there does seem have been more fire victims than in the last year or so than anything I have seen before.

Daf's - 2404, 2407, 2408, 2412, 2456 (repaired), 2475
Volvo- 2721 (4118)
Merc - 6005

Other past examples include 2424, 2578, 2871 and 7566
The only correlation that I can make of this is that they all have ZF gearboxes (not 100 % sure if 2721 was zf).

Indeed it was, the only ZF out of the Green Lane (and one time Speke) batch. Was a lovely bus as well.

Indeed it was.

It's not only the North West however that have the same problems with similar vehicle types including Arriva Yorkshire and North East who also have/had burnt out Renowns, Alx300's, Alx200's and Prestiges for example.
Yes, I've heard about them setting themselves alight in other areas as well. Additionally I think one or two DLA's have had engine fires as well. Another one for the past may have been B10B 6574 as well. Must admit, didn't know about 2578.
4159 was the DLA with an engine fire, while based at Rhyl. A real shame because that one was a flyer at Speke.
