2234 replaced 2233 on the 345 today, 2234 is now the bus to skelmersdale tonight.

Cant say im surprised it got replaced since white smoke was coming out the back of it (2233) this morning laving a cloud of smoke behind it!
4416 was on 62a this afternoon, seen it bootle bound st Black Bull at around 5pm.
2638 is on 52A lates tonight...

The usual 52/52A Cadet/Dart board (which includes the 09:30 and 15:30 52s off Netherton) was, thankfully, operated by 4429 today. Don't know why this board is usually a Cadet/Dart as the 09:30 journey is really busy with pass-holders and the 15:30 journey is really busy with students.
There were 2deckers on the 52s yesterday afternoon on consecutive journeys I saw in Queen Square
4214 was on the 62 this afternoon
Yesterday, 2519 was on the 53 and 2638 was on the 61. Also, 2263 was on the 52/52A.

Today, 2519 was on a 55 late board and 2638 was on the 53A!
Very unusually Dennis dart 2232 is on the 310/311 today!

I was told by a reliable source at Bootle yesterday that the 16 Enviro400s due here in January are for the 52/52A. He did admit that they only need 12 for the 52s though, which makes the order for 16 a bit odd. However, I'm thinking that they were ordered when the 52s were every 6 minutes (requiring 14 buses).

They'll most-likely see-off the 12 Darts without a doubt. Being optimistic, the additional 4 will hopefully see-off the Cadets! The only things at the depot that are older than the Cadets are the Geminis, which probably won't be replaced as they're for school services (well, that's what they're here for!).
I was trying to work out what would happen last night if the expected number of deckers is delivered to Merseyside depots next year.

At Bootle, I think you've got it spot on YJ59. The 12 Darts withdrawn and the 4 Cadets cascaded elsewhere. My thought would be Birkenhead, where there are plenty of X registered Cadets to start seeing off.

Worth saying, it's fantastic to see the 52/52A finally getting the capacity upgrade it deserves. Every time I've ever used it on the section through Litherland, it's always been packed. As for the spares, perhaps they could ensure all three 56 boards are always served by deckers and move the 61 further towards full decker operation.

I think another possiblity for Bootle's Cadets could be St Helens who also have also have a number of X-reg Cadets

I agree - every single time I've been on or seen a 52/52A at peak times it has been full with standing passengers. Does anybody know when the new Enviro400s are expected for delivery?
