Had 2233 on my 61 home this evening, think they have done something with this bus and there was very little if any rattling and for a change quite a pleasant ride on an X-ANC dart which is something I couldnt say I have truly had for a long time. This bus has certainly been tightened up.
Do Bootle still have their cadets as don't seem to have seen one for ages, I know that 2638 has gone to Bolton but there is still the other three.

It may have been fully P&P'd with Interurban, new seats and LEDs, but in my opinion, I'd say this is one of Bootle's WORST DLAs.
Pitiful acceleration and slow top speed is right up there with the awful 4028 (S268 JUA).
4028 is unusually on the 58 this evening!

Got talking to the driver of 4028 a few months ago.
He said; "This thing's terrible! I was 25 minutes late when I was doing the 61!"
The sooner they get rid of this bus, the better. It really struggles to keep to time. Appalling acceleration!
The 61s, despite being a 12 minute frequency regularly travel in2s nearly when ive seen them!

Yep - I've seen them all during the past week! They tend to work on the ex-Skelmersdale-based services.
That would explain why I havent seen them. Basically if I don't see them when I'm on the 61 going home from work and they are operating those services I am not going to see them. Thanks guys.
Two Darts were out on the 52 today - 2233 and a tired looking 7662. 4094 was on the 55 while the remainder of the DLAs were shared between the 56 and 59/61.
Had a ride on 4094 which, as MPTE mentioned, is certainly a sluggish example. Unfortunately, it also suffers from a fair bit of crashing about, especially upstairs. For me, Bootle's worst DLA although it does at least look nice and tidy as an example which has undergone P&P. Had my seemingly guaranteed ride on the ever present 4089 as well, and here the heating issue has been fixed. This seemed a lot better than last time out, moving well and running smoothly. Still a damaged seat back to sort upstairs, however. Another decent Bootle DLA is 4064, fairly run of the mill in terms of speed but presentable and smooth.
That 7662 doesnt only look tired but it rides rough and is a total shed, probably the worst of Bootle's marshalls.
