As feared, but not unexpected, the 63 will operate a 30 minute frequency all day. At the moment the 53A operates on a 20 minute frequency for most of the day (M-Sat) until early evening and then goes to 30 minutes. I am sure that this reduction of service will pose serious problems at peak times, especially when Stagecoach withdraws its 53A peak service on 25th January.

Also, it seems that the 63 will not call at Aintree Station interchange. This will require passengers to alight and board the 63 at the exposed bus stops (that don't even have shelters) on the road bridge some distance from the station. I have just caught a 53A from the station and, along with the other dozen or so passengers, was glad that I didn't have to wait out in the cold wind and torrential rain. I mentioned the forthcoming changes to some of these same passengers and they were visibly shocked by what I told them.

Didn't find timetables, but network map shows 54 no longer looping to Runnels Lane terminus. 62 is drawn as starting and finishing at Bootle Strand - not North Park. Suspect these are drafting mistakes rather than changes to services.

Who's to say it'll come out in Interurban livery like Bootle's other Pulsars after similar incidents (2942, 3018 and 3020)?

2944 is back on the road today (on route 53) and -sure enough- its been repainted into Interurban.
Looks similar to 3112 (MX12 KXB) in that its missing the white stripe across the front apron.

Not sure if the interior has been upgraded or not.

I very much doubt it has - Arriva appear to have abandoned the 'Polish and Promote' programme in favour of refurbishments to Sapphire or MAX standards. Hopefully they'll devise a refurbishment specification for standard buses in the near future as there are plenty of buses throughout the division that could do with some interior attention.

Can't see the interior in this shot, taken yesterday (the 16th), but it's on route 62 today if anyone's interested...

Either 2263 or 2268 was on a 53A late on Wednesday and 2224 was on the same board yesterday (53s during the day then 53A lates).

Interestingly, 2227 is on the 52/52A today (same board that 2519 was on yesterday).

Oddly, the new 63 is a circular (in theory). The timetable is quite poor to be honest, with the first journey along the 62 route from Crosby to Bootle being at about 08:00 and last one from Bootle outwards being at 22:10. Student trade for Hugh Baird College will be lost when the buses could quite easily be extended to serve the college with the lay-over time that's there (the buses will have to turn-around somewhere anyway). Is rumours true about bootle losing there pulsars 2 to midlands when deckers arrive
Only the newest examples will leave. They will however be replaced by older examples from within the North West region (i.e. those made surplus to requirement by the incoming Enviro400s).

As far as I'm aware Bootle are not receiving any more pulsars after the 12 plates leave, the new enviro 400s will be the replacement.

There's two possibilities for where they're going, I've heard that 3107-22 are all off to Arriva Shires, and there's another report that 3113-22 are off to Arriva North East so either is possible....
In fact, for interest, the complete list that I've been told about is as follows...

3062-8 to Midlands, 3069-72 to Shires, 3073-6 to Midlands, 3079-81 to Midlands, 3107-22 to Shires, 3123-5 to Midlands, 3147-52 to Shires and 3153-8 to Midlands. There is another list from which has the same vehicles leaving but differences in what is going to Shires & Midlands plus some to NE....as they're all still in and around Liverpool at the moment, we'll have to see as plans can easily change at short notice. Have seen elsewhere that ANW 3153-8 will become Midlands 3799-3804 and ANW 3062-8 will become Midlands 3805-3811
