If the merged route started operation in December you'd expect long term VOR to have been taken into consideration when they decided on allocations, especially considering the new timetable reduces the total number of vehicles required.

Looks like 703 was given duties that are usually given to a Pulsar last week.
Think the reason the evening journeys on the 10E (18:15/19:15 & the 20:15) are strata allocated is those trips are fairly quiet ish, the 18:15 is reasonably used with people finishing work etc.

Also sorry to sound thick but what does VOR mean?

Vehicle Off Road
2523 is on loan here from Rhyl
2533 has arrived here this afternoon. And 2523 has gone back to Rhyl depot also 660 due to move there tomorrow
2633 is at Winsford
Pulsar 2905 is now here and is out on 31/37 today
Optare Solo 663 is now transferred here from Bangor having also joined with 662 and 664 from Wrexham.
2905 has returned to Wythenshawe Depot yesterday
Not sure why but the Sunday Northwich timetable appears as service F01W on bustimes!
