Not very Sapphire of the 130 today.
2936 joined by Optare Solo SRs 700 and 706 !
130 on Sunday is contracted and I think the contract requires at least 28 seats to be provided.
Is 2936 here or is that a Wythenshawe working?

2936 is still allocated to Wythenshawe for the moment

Quite cosy on Solo 700 working the 1329 ex Manchester, which is after the relief (two hour)gap. Not helped by it running 54 mins late. 2936 was only 8 mins behind !.

I imagine TSS (Cheshire East) came up with a figure based on loadings in Cheshire East and TfGM didn't propose changing it, despite providing some funding for the service. On checking it is 25 not even 28!
Whether this is even remotely true or not I don't know. A macc driver mate of mine told me on sundays drivers aren't allocated a particular bus for their duties & can take whichever they fancy!

They probably thought sunday loadings would be quite low so hence put solos out. He also said that he wouldn't be surprised if a decker pitches up on the 130 soon given how regularly the pulsars turn up on other duties. It'd help as it can get very cosy even with a pulsar on it.

The 130 has been in managed decline for quite some time and even the Sunday contract appears to have been dragged into that now, with its unreliability and in this particular case using vehicles not really suited to it.
If what you say is true, does that mean if/when the Sprinter van things turn up, one of them could go out because a driver fancies it ?

There should be minimum standards and there should be a policy , yeah maybe pick a vehicle above a seating capacity based on the job its going to cover not a drivers preference.

That figure for loadings is quite accurate, it's rare to see any more than that on the bus on a sunday. The service also barely picks anyone up travelling between Manchester and Parrswood because quite simply there are more frequent and cheaper Wilmslow Rd Services
