I was not expecting that! I thought it does well tbh, I wonder if merseytravel routes 240/242 will be reintroduced?

Also I wonder if the reason why the 197 is being cancelled is because Arriva introducing an extra morning 492 service?

Which reading between the lines sounds like code for "They are no longer commercially viable, and we are in talks with merseytravel to consider re-contracting the services"

Or could also be, they are skint and can't afford to run many commercial services anymore. (Hence the untidy external state of a lot of their buses)r

It is shocking how bad the buses perform and look visually in recent years! Before the arrival of the T reg solos, the fleet was pretty tidy, and then it all went downhill.

It is slightly annoying to see that Bolton seems to be the prefered investment choice for the sake of pleasing TfGM

If so, I can't see the 57C/58C being replaced as Arriva's 58 runs a pretty-much identical route. I must say that them and the 144/145 seem to be busy services, so it's a surprise that they're being withdrawn.

maybe if Arriva look at them & see them viable they condider moving a few minibuses over to Bootle to run them?
