how can you change the 360 route when it runs in the daytime by a different company?

Just as you would change any other route...... The amendment is specific to SLT (read the legal info which begins the alteration) so, as such, is quite obviously specific to their portion of the 360 and not Arriva's.

It's a minor change due to the prohibited left turn from Warrington Road into Darlington Street. The buses now have to use Sovereign Road which was previously a dead end.

I seem to be the only one who bothered to vary the registrations - the change affects all services that turn left at that junction.

Chris.
That's fair enough Chris! I was more trying to explain to BBB how one company running a route alongside another could potentially change their portion of the route whilst the other does not!
Shows how long its been since I was last in Wigan as I didn't even know this change to the road layout was planned!

Neither did I until I got an e-mail about it at 4pm the day before! Not quite sure why it was done in such a rush - that's why the registrations have only just been accepted even though the change was in August.
Put it this way, it wasn't even mentioned on the council's roadworks bulletin... very unusual indeed! I'm curious as to why the council has done this though, but that's going way off topic.

Edit: Traffic management, there's a new right turn lane for traffic going into Darlington Street East.

Apparently (according to Wigan Council) the roadworks bulletin only deals with temporary traffic lights and road closures, not permanent Traffic Regulation Orders. There is a separate mailing list for this (which I am on, but haven't received anything yet).
The council must have changed tact, as the roadworks bulletin used to list any scheduled roadworks, even down to pavement redressing! Mind you, the modifications of the junctions would involve a fair bit of work, so I would have thought traffic management would have been required!

Oh well... let's get back to the buses (I'll leave the road stuff to the roads forum lol)
