To be honest which of them could go back to diesel units easily if there ever became a serious shortage
The 15:00 LIV - WGN was a 142 yesterday...

A 319 was brought off Allerton depot to work the 1700 Lime St to Wigan and the 142 that returned from Wigan after working the 1500 ex Lime Street then worked part of the 1855 Lime St to Warrington Central
The extra capacity would be greatly needed for the 1700 to Wigan , before the introduction of the 319's which of the evening peak services were strengthened .
Yes exactly, had a 319 not of been repaired and come off Allerton to work the 1700 Lime St to Wigan it would of been 142034 only on this service and it would of left people behind at Lime St it would of been that full.
Every day this week there's been either a 319 failing after being put in service or/and a DMU filling in for a 319 on one diagram. One failed on a Victoria-Lime St diagram today.
Which was or is more reliable 142/150/156 or the 319's ?

Whilst I readily admit I am a critic of the 319s reliability if you are referring to the cancellation of the 1202 Man Vic-Lime St and 1320 Lime St-Man Vic today this wasn't down to a 319 failing it was down to a 142+150 failing at Kirkby meaning traincrew for the above services were caught up in this disruption.

As for the query as to what is most reliable out of 142/150/156/319,in my experience 150s are most reliable.
