Apparently the 319 move has been caped UFN due to clearance/transfer issues. Was to be 57 hauled from down south. Usual H & S farces.
Its usually the step boards of EMU's that take them out of gauge and they will be removed for any travel .

How far north has a Class 319 actually ever reached , it could be Network Rail need to do some checks before allowing them up here.

All 86 of the class have been to York because they were built there!
319008 and 319009 also have the honour of travelling to Coquelles in France when the Channel Tunnel opened.
I wonder if/when they will be reliveried and if they will be the samw design as the current Northern fleet. One would imagi e that they would be, but maybe they might spruce up the design of the liveries with them being electric...

Thanks for the information , never realised they had been to France .
Does anyone else feel that it would have been better to have moved the 323's from the Midlands to Northern to give them a unified electric fleet. Perhaps the 319's could have gone to the Midlands or perhaps more 350's built for that area - just a thought!

They used to work as far as Rugby on a through service from the Southern (East Croydon/Gatwick?), 319001-13 were the ones used.

No more 350s need be built as there will be a number of emus surplus in the south east as a result of Crossrail/Thameslink. Class 315/317/319/365 come to mind.
