Todmorden curve has reopened allowing direct workings between Burnley and Manchester for the first time since 1972.
Everything that Northern Rail needs to prosper is starting to fall into place . Even if its not fully in place yet.

Didn't some of the units in a merry go round sort of way that was released from the Manchester Airport diagrams allow the service to start on the Todmorden Curve .
Not a good start for the electrics on the Wigan line - one diagram [starts with the 0532 from Lime Street) is completely cancelled compounded by some problems at Preston where I believe some units have been stabled overnight for starts from the Wigan/Preston end.
Oh its only teething problems , Northern will have a contingency plan in place to source units .
156424, 156475 156483 and 156489 are all on TP Services today
With thanks to RailUK forums - a total of eleven Class 319s were in traffic today

There are presently a dozen refreshed 319/3s at Allerton. Another two are due from Wolverton shortly which will then bring the number of 319/3s with Northern to the originally planned fourteen

Also 142058 was on the 1503 Blackpool North - Liverpool South Parkway. Is the Liverpool - Blackpool service still booked for 156's or is it now a mixture of 142/150.
There was also another 142 on there, think it was 142046
Northern have released information regarding the Network Rail strike on 25th/26th May:

Virtually everything wiped out in North West and NO replacement buses.

Apologies - I tried to put a link in but it doesn't work unfortunately. Details are on Northern's website.
