319383 decided to have fun on the Liverpool - Wigan Line today by breaking down in St Helens and taking 20 mins for the fault to get fixed, really starting to this low of these 319s as problems as cropping up a lot more than the 142s,150s and 156s that ran the Line before they came up.
It could be the 319's really need that long distance run , rather than the constant stopping and starting on the local service which does take it out of any unit no matter what type it is over the years.
They start on the truncated Liverpool - Preston service from 5th October, which should give some of them a chance to stretch their legs so to speak.
You really do wonder with all the delays to Lancashire Electrification Timetable at what point the Monday to Saturday service will go back to Blackpool North
319377 arrived at Allerton from Wolverton tonight.
Will there be enough 319's to work the truncated Liverpool South Parkway - Preston service from Monday?

What will be first priority - the Warrington or the Preston services?

I understand that the plan is to do Preston and any remaining diesel Manchester diagrams at this change with the Warrington going Electric in December.
With the ongoing electrification delays you do wonder how long the Liverpool - Blackpool North service will be cut back to Preston.
Im led to believe there will be at least one service in each direction from Liverpool to Blackpool North to convey traffic to and from Blackpool illuminations , whether these disappear at the end of the illuminations I don't know .
There are 2 journeys towards Blackpool (0757/1716) and 1 journey from Blackpool (1803) - I think the journey back from Blackpool is too early for people coming back from the Illuminations although probably better to get there on a Sunday when all journeys run through to Blackpool.
Today was the first day of the truncated Preston service - seen 319 362 and came back from Wigan on 319 369 - was strange at Wigan seeing a 319 coming down from the North. The only concern I have is timekeeping as there is only a 4 minute turn around at Preston (arrives at xx26, departs at xx30). As I have mentioned before, keeping to time North of Wigan is a challenge with the 2 track bottleneck that is Exuton - Wigan.
