I think the 319's are replacing the Class 156 on the Liverpool - Manchester Airport service when they get the overhead wires sorted out .
Wonder if the 156's will go to ATW after?

More likely they will go to TPE to replace the 170s that will have moved to Chiltern

As previously posted (many times) the 319s will initially replace 142 150 and 156 out of Lime Street to Manchester Airport, Manchester Victoria, Wigan North Western and Warringto Bank Quay.

Unlikely to go to ATW. Should stay with Northern until at least 2016.

It will not happen , Arriva Trains Wales does not operate Class 156's . They may have operated into Wales in the days of First North Western and Central Trains , remember them .
A further four Class 319s are due to be taken out of service by Thameslink tomorrow and replaced by new Class 387/1 diagrams on Monday.
Any idea where this lineside fire / incident was on the Liverpool - Huyton line .

It is a simple conversion course for train crew, but I would suspect 142's to leave the fleet first.
