No, the unit for the morning services runs ECS from Lime St to Bank Quay, does a couple of trips then it goes empty from Bank Quay to Preston.

The unit for the afternoon trips comes from Chester and after it has done a couple of trips runs ECS from Bank Quay to Lime St.

Welcome to the privatised railway...

ATW send 2 x 175 ECS CTR to LLJ every morning and 1 ECS CTR - PICC via Crewe/WBQ, also 3 x 15x CTR - LLJ every morning.

East Mids send 3 x 158 ECS Nottingham to Lime St... Every morning..

Virgin runs Voyagers galore ECS between Crewe/Tamworth - Chester/Holyhead /Wrexham, every morning/evening..
Why cant that last trip not continue in service beyond Helsby and Warrington Bank Quay.

I suppose it is more to do with the fact that the service arrives at Warrington Bank Quay to fit into the pattern at Earlestown at the wrong time , the Non-stop service TPX precluding anything other than an ECS working.

What does the set strengthen at Liverpool Lime St.
It used to work the 1725 from Lime St to Oxford Rd, not 100% sure, will find out.

As for a waste of resources it isn't quite as bad as the four units that come from Nottingham to Liverpool to work the first departures to Norwich.

In what would have been a rare sight even six months ago 150136 was on the Sheffield-Scunthorpe service whilst 150112 was on the Lincoln to Adwick.
319376 is the latest of the class to arrive at Alperton.
142 030 on 1503 Blackpool North - Liverpool South Parkway - not seen a Pacer on this route for a while as the route appeared to have settled to a150/156 mix.
On long welded rail i find the 142's acceptable , its only when you get on to short length track that the ride becomes intolerable .

The bank from Springs branch to Bryn up the incline used to be terrible as you had a PSR and short length track which would make the run an eternity in that direction.
