Yes, in total five more buses will be needed. I think the plan at the moment is to send more of the 12-plate Solos from Aintree to Bolton and replace them at Aintree with other vehicles. It was mentioned that they could be replaced with Wrightbus Streetlite Micro Hybrids but we'll have to wait and see on that one.

It would certainly seem to make sense to have a standardised fleet of hybrid Optares at Bolton.

I have recent sightings (last few months) of GXB/C/D/F/K/L/M/N in Bolton. I know examples do move back and forth from Aintree from time to time, but if it's correct that they do have eight, then five more would give Bolton the entire batch.

On a very tangentially related note, I saw, from a distance, what was unmistakeably one of the ex-Cumfybus DAF/Myllenniums in Bolton a couple of weeks ago. Although I wasn't close enough to ID it, I think it's safe to assume V475 HKY, since this is the only one currently taxed!

Would make sense to have all the hybrids in one place as they tend to return to aintree for there main servicing etc.
The ex cumfybus DAF myllenium as been converted to a private driver training veichle as i tend to see that a lot around golborne/platt bridge area.

This bus is owned by North Manchester Driver Training and is kept in a yard off Morris Street in Bolton, just behind the Arriva depot.
Just thinking, Would they not need a 6th Bus as an extra spare?
Do non of these contracts come with any tfgm funded buses?

No, they're all operator-owned vehicle contracts.
I do wonder whether these contract gains are the real reason behind the 193 being withdrawn, as it's not the first time Cumfybus have cancelled services whilst operating on their maximum vehicle allowance to receive guaranteed income from TfGM.

Ok thanks

As these tenders don't start until the end of October - and strictly speaking should not be public knowledge until all signed off - it wouldn't make sense to deregister before early September. A lot can happen in this industry between now and then.

The 193 ran Between Halewood and Huyton but was withdrawn on 24th July - hence no luck on Traveline. I'm unsure whether the service actually ran commercially in it's latter years.
