Does anybody know what vehicles Cumfybus have got for the TfGM tenders that start next month, also any idea of where their depot is going to be
Ive heard it could be the old maytree depot there going to and that there is about 6-8 buses but unsure what they may be.
Cumfybus mainly operate solo's so unless they are using the few deckers that that have or have got some buses in, it is highly likely to be solo's.
How many Solos are out of use at the moment and could be sent over to Bolton? Not knowing the state they're in and how many are left operational, I wondered whether we could see the Tridents and/or Mylleniums make a return...

I don't know how many they have out of use, but a friend of mine is a driver for them and is not very complimentary about most of the buses they have.
I use to work for them and i can support what ur freind is saying as the buses are awfull and i myself didnt have many good words to say about most of there buses.

They're more known for the commercialization of profitable contract services

The only commercial services operated are as follows:

15: Marshside to Birkdale (PVR 1)

A couple of points:-
1. Route 15 was the amalagamation of tendered routes 105 (Monument-Clive Road) and 115 (Lord St [Morrisons]- Fleetwood Road [Marshside]) in October 2006 after the 115 was to be lost. It has a PVR of 2 vehicles and provides a 30 minutes frequency which improved on the 40 mins frequency of the 115 section of route. It was initially operated with a de minimis payment from merseytravel therefore saving money providing 2 existing full blown tenders.

2. Historically when Cumfy have introduced themselves to new areas they have introduced brand new buses locally to them. In this instance, Bolton, won't TfGM supply hybrid Eco buses for these new tenders?

3 Cumfy must be having a bit of a clearout as some long time withdrawn stock has been disposed of lately including 2 or 3 Myllenium DAFs.

My own personal opinion is Cumfy could do with investing in the appearance of their fleet as most of the Solos, especially, look tired and down at heel, maybe even invest in a totally new vibrant image.
I would agree. some of their buses just look so untidy, the silver ones that they have just look shocking, and some of their others look like they have several different shades of yellow all on the same bus.
Its a shame really because I remember the silver ones (MX06 ABK[EH06UNY),YXV,YYA) when they were brand new and looked classy. Now par for the course are odd battered panels, missing headlamp surrounds and part fleetnames.

A forlorn looking X182 NWR was being given a piggyback last night out of Southport town centre by Johnson's of Banks' Volvo FL6 flatbed. X182 was missing its panel under the cab window where the fuel filler is.

That would make very good sence, as the site is already an authorized operating centre.
