One of the hybrids on school service 714 this morning, but I'm guessing if this interworks with the 152 it's happened before?

There was a hybrid on the 152 and there has been for the fast few days!
Yeah I've seen one on the 152 a few times and in the last few days, first time on 714 though but I'm guessing they interwork?
Yeah that's right Jack! Does the 714 then onto the first 152. It's usually a hybrid on there.
Thanks mate!

CUMFY seem to be SORNing their S-reg Solos, so I'd hazard a guess that it's (X177 NWR) that hit the Arriva Pulsar.
Mind you, it's only a guess...hmmm...

Ah right, thanks for that additional observation - slowly but surely we're eliminating them as possibilities!

A visit to Kirkby may be able to prove or disprove X177 NWR, however having thought about it a bit more, I recall this one being parked right up against the fence, forwards. If it had been towed in following a crash it would most likely have been pushed into position backwards. So my instincts are now tending against it having been this one, though of course that isn't conclusive. Meanwhile, S248 KNL from memory was also parked facing inwards, but with enough of a side aspect visible that I think I'd probably have noticed if it had major front end damage - so probably not that one either!

It's remarkable how many can be ruled out on the basis of finding more recent photos of them on Flickr, and a further half dozen or so have subsequent observations on this forum, and a couple more have been re-taxed since the accident which makes it very unlikely they were the one involved. (MX09 MJU, incidentally, has been SORNed since March - I hadn't noticed this one before, wonder what happened to it?)

Apart from the above, there are actually only five left unaccounted for that could have been involved in the crash:

X173 NWR
X174 NWR
VU52 UEM
MX55 WDD
MX55 WDG

The MX55 batch, in my experience, have tended to stick very much to the Southport/Formby/west Lancs area, so probably less likely to have been one of these in the Netherton area.

So, does anyone have any recent observations of 173, 174 or UEM?
Enviro 200 demo/loan/new purchase? MX60 BWY on the 152

Cumfybus answer to the classic solo ending production?
Freshly-repainted X176 NWR is on the 57C/58C/144/145 today.

I have seen UEM recently in service on the 139, it's gained the new style logos so it should stick around for a bit yet!
As mentioned earlier,MX60 BWY, Which is actually ex- ACE Travel 723!
