They're advertising Atherton Rd depot as an MOT testing station for PCV and LGV classes. Obviously pulled their socks up maintenance wise. Good luck to them in this new venture.

It is indeed a VOSA testing facility, a large pit are on the far side of the depot, was mentioned a few months ago it was going to be opened to PCV and LGV operators as an extra source of income, good idea really!
Does a merseytravel supported bus have to display its route number and destination on the front display as part of theoir agreement? As the two new vans on the 901 clearly don't display a number

These are both contract requirements when undertaking any Merseytravel contracts, if it happens for a period of time, the operator will be contacted by Merseytravel to explain their lack of action to remedy the problem.
Not only will it be a contractural requirement, but it's also a LEGAL requirement for any bus service, even a schools service. Has been for many years.
Well its been like that for about 3 weeks now. The buses look like Day Centre ambulances..
Seen at the Fiveways junction in Ormskirk yesterday at around 1600 was a Fylde Villager branded Solo on the back of a Johnson's Recovery truck, heading towards Liverpool. Unfortunately I was driving a coach at the time so I couldn't ID it.
Interestingly Optare Alero YN03 UYA is on JobLink 811's today.
Solo X171NWR broke down on warbreck moor yesterday left a trail of oil and water all over the road.
