Even though it was a bad crash, its quite sad knowing it wont be around anymore. And it was such a new bus. I guess the insurance wasn't paying out?
Am not sure on that, I just know that the Bus was beyond repair

From what I believe the chasis was badly damaged thus the integrity of the bus was compromised meaning it would never be allowed back on the road for safety reasons, and generally if the damage is worth more than a third of the value of the vehicle the insurance company generally write said vehicle off.
As you say it was such a new bus to lose!

Going off topic here but do buses get the same treatment as cars and vans do with category write offs? I'm sure cat D and lower is exterior damage and cat C is chassis damage. Cat A & B are not to be used on the road.
If so, that would mean YD63 VBT was a cat B as the rear was salvageable.
