As stated many, many times, Walkergate's B10BLEs are likely to be in service until such time something else arrives to replace them. As the North East isn't getting any new buses from the 2012/13 order, that will probably see them in service for at least 6 more months, if not much longer.
Err...although Walkergate are using the B10BLEs in reality, on paper they don't need them, hence them going for disposal.
I can't imagine they'll hang around long - unlike most stuff hitting the market now, they are low floor.

Odd to fit that when it's down for disposal.
Legal requirement that destination displays are illuminated. Not much of a problem having the vinyl display over summer when it is operating in daylight, but with it still being used now in the darker evenings it needs to be luminated.

They will hang around for as long as there is a use for them. Certain people who like to think they know it all would have had everyone believe they would have been withdrawn as soon as the Paralympics were over. 9 weeks later and they are still very much part of the Walkergate picture
No...they will hang around until a deal is concluded on them.
Officially WA shouldn't be using them, but are to make life easier for themselves and reduce stress on the fleet.
They managed before the Olympics with a fleet the same size as now without B10BLEs, so why they suddenly 'need' to keep the B10BLEs is beyond me.

Erm, Walkergate have no need for them - the 18 and X63 should be totally MAN worked now with the two spare Darts as back-up in theory for the 18 as well. As such, no need for them at Walkergate, hence why the 5 currently being used there are listed as disposal. And before you bring up Stockton, due to the amount of problems with the MAN Enviro300s (24101 being at Walkergate for a new engine) and other bits-and-bobs with the rest of the fleet, Stockton needs all the reserve buses it can use, hence why there's currently 5 in use (21104 [still offically allocation, but then 22470 is still offically delincesed but has been back in use since the end of June], 21141, 21142 [offically for disposal], 21150 and 22493) with more MANs transferring soon to replace the B10BLEs.
In other news:
Olympian 16832 was on the 13, 16837 was on the 52/58, 16838 was on the 59/61, 16839 was on the 11 (from what I have worked out, it was on the all day board as well, so unless it is swapped over will stay out on 12/610/611 tonight until 0005) and 16840 was on 12/14/34. 21104 was also on the 11, while 21142 spend the whole day on the 12/14/34 with 21150 joining it about 1315-ish replacing 22455 which went onto the 52/58.
Enviro300 24114 went onto the 11 at some point this afternoon replacing whatever was the fourth vehicle (the only one I didn't seen all day). It was spare earlier in the day alongside 24115. At least 2 others (not including 24101) were VOR as 4 ALX300s were on the 36.
Is there any chance of changing this group to Stockton's Olympians and B10BLEs daily workings group? As a slight change of Subject Sunderland had 5 MANs and 2 darts on the 4 yesterday, 3 darts on the 23, an Enviro200 on the 3 and the 20, but im not going to bore everyone with that everyday since that has happened everyday for several months since the 5 becasme a nexus route requiring the Enviro200s.
Don't forget, as of today until the 23rd December, the X34 will be operating half hourly on a Sunday between 1015 and 1615 (from Harton Nook, 1110 til 1710 from Newcastle) for the Christmas Shopping rush.

That's the point, they didn't. Walkergate have been using the B10BLEs for well over a year...
